About

I'm Mike Elliott, a software engineer working in consciousness studies, based in Salt Lake City. For over 15 years I led engineering teams and departments. Now I work where those two things meet.

Current work

elliodelicssoftware engineering studio, 2026–now

Right now I'm moving Psymposia's tech stack to open-source, encrypted infrastructure (you can also find me on their podcast) and working with Josie Kins on various technical projects. For Psychedelia-Stiftung I build websites, like Psychedelia Retreats, and support their research into running ethical, evidence-backed psychedelic retreats.

The studio spun out of elliotec, my consulting practice since 2013, which continues for everything beyond the psychedelic field. Through both I've worked with dozens of companies across many industries and taught for coding bootcamps, online courses, and universities. The studio's full pitch lives at elliodelics.com. I take on a few engagements a year, through either door. The mike is the same everywhere: [email protected] here, [email protected] at the studio.

The Consciousness Libraryfounder & executive director, 2024–now

A non-profit research platform: tens of thousands of peer-reviewed articles on psychedelics, meditation, dreaming, and consciousness exploration, summarized and categorized, plus community forums for researchers, practitioners, and explorers. As far as I can tell it's the largest collection of its kind. I run all of it: product engineering, operations, and outreach.

MA, Psychedelics & Consciousness StudiesUniversity of Ottawa, graduating July 2026

Fieldwork with Yage (Ayahuasca) near Sasaima, Colombia. Practicum with Psychedelia-Stiftung in Germany. My focus is psychedelic critical theory.
